Allyship in Mentoring: Being an Agent of Change
Being an ally isn’t an extra role on top of mentoring: it’s mentoring at its best. Developed by Mentor Canada and Mentorat Québec, this guide helps mentors support people whose life and work experience differs from their own. It covers intersectionality, self-awareness, cultural humility and creating space for honest conversations, then outlines six concrete practices, including interrupting bias and microaggressions, sponsoring mentees and advocating for equity within the organization. Includes scenarios, sample phrases and reflection questions.
